The coloured works were inspired by a phrase from the Vedas describing non-material planes of existence as having the property of a "Self-effulgent radiance". Made with Pearl Essence paint containing mica, they flare up in certain light conditions.
The black works are made from clear varnish on matte black. One to represent the quantum field beyond matter, the other creates an 3D optical effect from 2D information.
