Alan! Your thoughts on art education music to our ears! Thank you for the thoughtful and kind words. Julia and I look forward to the day SciArt would be a movement with degree programs! Julia, starting a Uni could be our next project? If the conference was any reflection that would really be something! Alan - we are happily your tribe! It's folks like you that keep us doing what we do. My partner and I are thrilled to have a piece of your work in our home. :) Thank you for your generosity. Julia and I look forward to working together in the future. Until then, warm regards, Marnie

Alan, you have my unconditional support for your project "Manual for Terranauts". With very few extremely relevant pictograms you capture the interface between Science and Vedanta.
Not only are the drawings astonishingly beautiful, they are also conceptually mind-blowing!
In fact you provide a great map for the multidimensional process of self-exploration and self-mapping, which is the essential activity of the all-encompassing consciousness. Your ideas strongly resonate with the teachings of my books Technovedanta and Transcendental Metaphysics and I hope that one day I'll be able to benefit from your illustrative talent in a further project. I am now writing a book about the conundrum called consciousness. Once the text is finished, perhaps you can make some illustrations for it.

Alan, Thanks for sharing your methods, very interesting. I of course will take them to my grave. Like you I'm always looking for a way to bring light into art in interesting ways. Your work is easily worthy of SciArt Center in NY. I've exhibited through them before. It would be awesome to do a talk together! We are both
pretty methods heavy. Good to hear from you, and that's so awesome about the Prize! That's a significant chunk of change if you win! I am excited for you mate!
Dr Moata McNamara : Artist, Lecturer (NZ)
Alan was a student of my advanced research class, Unitec 2011. We share a life-long interest in philosophies addressing fundamental questions about existence and the purpose of life. I am very impressed with his level of engagement with deeply abstract matters which he ably articulates in written visual and oral form. His intentions to draw upon information technology as a metaphor for the structure existence, is a challenging but relevant one.
I am encouraging Alan to undertake Master's level study due to his highly committed work ethic and willingness to extend his practice in truly innovative directions. I firmly believe Alan has the ability to make an inspirational contribution to international science/visual arts forums that will reflect well on his nation and sponsors.

Alan, Your figurative graphic talents have always been your core strength and in this 'tour de force' illustration (Field Notes Of Terranaut) you show just how you would leave most of the local practitioners in your wake! Perhaps interpreting pop culture in the medium you know best is the most natural course for you. I could see several large canvases emerging from all the material you have presented in this one wall work? Given your highly skeptical views on post modernism, surely you are the perfect satirist to be the 'activist' who addresses all the visual trivia in the art arena at the moment. Alan, great work especially the 'leaf' (Fractalton) - fantastic - in the great tradition of Escher!

Dr Bruce Lipton : Biologist, Researcher, Author, International Speaker.
Alan, I very much enjoyed meeting you when I spoke in your home town Auckland.
I deeply appreciate your vision and heart - it enlightens our world. I thank you for your hospitality and for the artistic tribute to our work (Paradigm Found) and wish you well in your
future creative endeavors. I look forward to seeing you at one the international forums.

Alan, I enthusiastically support any grant bid you undertake and will follow developments with great interest. The philosophical basis of your work, achieved by dint of highly original and esoteric research, cites great mystical artists such that will certainly translate into profound outcomes. Your themes and topics, unusual for an artist, include information technology and quantum physics. A talent for synthesis and clarity of thought is evident. A master’s supervisor would have to work hard to keep up with the comet like progression of his disciple - an enlightening experience in itself. Mature MFA students are of immense value to their fellows by broadening perspectives. A scholarship in this case would be excellent an investment and would enhance the considerable reputation your nation already has for innovation is the arts and many other sectors.
